Hike Canada En Marche 2004 AGM

This year's AGM is planned for Saturday, October 2nd, in Canmore, Alberta. For those unfamiliar with the area, Canmore is a booming town of 10,000 situated outside the eastern gates of Banff National Park. Thousand-metre peaks range along the valley of the Bow River, the town linked by the TCH 100km eastwards to Calgary in the prairies and 25km west to Banff.

There is much for the visitor and a varied program will be offered once the number of AGM attendees and lengths of stay can be assessed. In October, snow can be a visitor of short duration but the town also is witness to the great migration of golden eagles re-discovered almost by chance only ten years ago. Daily counts of up to 500 of these magnificant birds are recorded as they soar high on their annual journey southwards along the spine of the Rockies.

Accommodation at all levels abounds from hotels to campsites, and shuttle to and from Calgary Airport can be arranged when flight times are co-ordinated. More details will be available later or upon request to Doug Campbell (Fax 403-678-5551, email: natrailc@telusplanet.net).

Some directors have yet to indicate whether or not they plan to attend, and if not, whether there's a chance they can arrange representation.
